Any student in the State of California is eligible to attend Ocean Charter School. There are no entrance tests. However, all admissions for incoming students are conducted via a random, public lottery. California charter school law requires a lottery whenever requests by students to enroll in a charter school exceed the number of available seats.
Ocean Charter School’s rigorous standards-based approach guided by the Core Principles of Public Waldorf Education is in high demand by parents looking for a public school where their children’s developmental and academic needs are met.
In recent years, we have received approximately 800-1000 applicants for the 53 places typically available each year.
